We discovered our Wedding Album of over 35 years was in bad shape. The “leather” that was used originally on the album was not up to standard and over time became sticky and fell apart. It was a mess. We found Bella Becho online for the restoration. Jeff contacted me and we discussed the renovation and he texted pictures to me to make the renovation choices easier. We even added more info to the cover and the side binding. We received the finished product this week and it was amazing. Everything was well done and the album is beautiful! I am now the care taker of the McJunkin Family Bible. It has been in the family for 133 years. As such it needed some restoration. Bella Becho has done a fabulous job without destroying the patina and age. The spline was replaced. Family pages were added and torn pages repaired. Bella Becho did a great job of restoring our 40-year old wedding album! The material on the wedding album cover had deteriorated so much, I had to seek out professionals to repair it. From the initial email, everyone I communicated with at Bella Becho was friendly and eager to accomplish what I wanted! I probably spoke to 3 or 4 employees; they were all very helpful, easy to communicate with, and above all, wanted the job to be done right.

The restored project was everything I had hoped! One of the employees even suggested having our names and date embossed on the front. That was an awesome idea and it looked great on the album cover! It was worth the wait (about 8 weeks) to have the job done to perfection!

I would say that the cost was expensive. But, as I have learned, ‘you get what you pay for’ and I would say the cost was worth 40 years of wedded bliss! Thank you Bella Becho! Job well done!

I can not express the beautiful job Bella Becho did to restore my family Bible. It was literally turning to dust. It was my deceased husbands family Bible, now I can continue the history with my side of the family and it will continue for 150 more years. They had to design a new spine because it was almost disintegrated. Between Deborah and I, especially Deborah, we designed a new spine. She was fantastic. I left my beloved Golden Book of Christmas with the bindery to have the cracked and poorly taped binding replaced. Important to save: the inscription from my grandparents and the delightful illustrations on the inside covers and endpapers. We even asked to have the worn and stained spots retained to show the years of love! I just got the book back and it is wonderful – sturdily covered, inscription in place, and ready for me to read to my grandchildren this Christmas. It will last several more generations now!

I contacted Bella Becho in May 2021 about restoring a Bible my husband had purchased in 1987. He just re-dedicated his life to Jesus and wrote in it many things. He took it everywhere. In a few years the binding gave way and he started losing pages. We were unable to replace it, so put it on a shelf. In May I had an idea to have that Bible restored. I researched companies and chose Bella to do the restoration. I sent them some pictures. They got back to me the same day with an estimate. The next day I sent them the Bible. They called me with a plan and worked with me to make sure it was back by Father’s Day. They did an excellent job. Knowing that a person spent so much time and effort personally doing a perfect job makes me very happy and appreciative. A lot of work went into the restoration. I researched several binderies to restore our family bible that was from the 1800’s. Once I spoke to Bella Becho I was certain they were the best people to handle this project. I received several e-mails regarding their basic restoration work and pricing. I also spoke to them several times before sending the bible to be sure that I understood the process of the restoration. I recently (Jan 2020) had my album repaired. It had a covering that had turned sticky and it seems there was a history of this occurring with this album from 1983. This was my second opportunity to work with this firm–a family Bible and my dissertation. Both required creative design and consummate skill. I could not be more delighted with both keepsakes.

When our wedding album from 1979 was in its 43rd year the cover material began to deteriorate, Bella Becho knew exactly what to do and how to restore, or in our case, recreate our wedding album. I say recreate because not only did the album covers need replaced, the silk liners on the insides of the covers were badly faded…

Our album ended up not getting restored, but rather recreated, with improvements. Jeff at Bella Becho discussed all of the details at length with me and thoroughly covered all of the material and embossing options for the new album. We ended up with a much better version of our original album, made with better materials, that fit our original pages better than our old album. We chose embossing which was very close to our original, and reused the brass oval framed cover photo from our original album. The result is an album that looks like our original, but it’s better!

When the album was about done, I asked Jeff if Bella Becho could make an attractive storage box for the new album to protect it from dust, fading, and accidents. He discussed this with Deborah, the founder and owner of Bella Becho. They came up with a beautiful box, coordinated and embossed to compliment and protect the album wherever, and however long it may be stored.

We are very pleased with the results and with the experience we had working with Bella Becho. They were able to do things for us that I don’t think we could have gotten done anywhere else. This custom work was not inexpensive, and it took time to plan, to schedule, and to create, but it turned our worn out old wedding album into a beautiful, durable, and well protected family heirloom. The cover of my wedding album from 1993 was disintegrating. Bella Becho rebound it for me in a beautiful leather of my choice. They were able to add the album title, our names, and year of wedding on the front so it is very similar to the original. They were also able to add this information to the spine which was nice. Bella Becho’s instructions were easy to follow for removing my photo pages from the original album and for shipping the cover to them. A staff member called me to verify exactly what I wanted. I was so pleased with the new binding they produced for me and would not hesitate to use their services again when needed.

I had mentioned possibly having my old Bible restored. My husband did research and found Bella Becho AND they were located in Houston, TX. We were going to The Woodlands, Texas to spend Christmas with our older son and his family. This sounded perfect. I did not want to put my precious Bible in the mail, but I wanted to hand carry it and talk with the people who would restore it. I called and spoke with Deborah and learned their hours. Our flight was scheduled to land in Houston at 5:30 PM. When I told Deborah the time, she said that would not be a problem, they would stay and wait for us! I was so relieved! When I showed my Bible with paper clips holding different pages in, the binding away from the Bible and showing much use, Jeff noted that I DID have lots of notes written and some were written in the margin close to the stitching of the pages. My pages would need to be re-stitched and it was possible that some notes might be not as clear. (This did NOT happen, ALL my notes are clear!) We spent so much time discussing what I wanted and what Jeff suggested, I felt bad keeping them way past time to leave and especially on a Friday night near Christmas! They all were beyond Gracious and helpful. My husband, my son and I left feeling so confident with these people who would restore my precious 50 year old Bible and all my notes from several Preachers all around the United States. My husband is retired from the National Park Service and we have lived in 11 different National Parks and have heard several great Sermons. I have plans to leave this beautifully restored Bible to our older son, and then hope he will leave it with his older son. My bible was returned to me VIA Fed Ex within the time Bella Becho had said. They did a WONDERFUL Job!

My grandparents wedding bible from 1915 was in terrible shape. The binding was rotten, there was a red dust throughout the bible and the bible was about to fall apart. Our wedding album binder was damaged by mildew in a problem with a damp basement caused by some flooding when a pipe burst last fall of 2019. Made contact with Bella Becho for the repair and restoration of a 1927 copy of Voltaire. After a couple of weeks of discussion about options, designs, inlays, title, and other items, a decision was made and the process began. Total time in Bella Becho’s hands, 2-3 months. Reworked some of the leather, replaced and rebound the books spine, and replicated the font for the title and decoration for the spine. Results were immaculate and far beyond expectations. From the first phone conversation, working with them was a dream. My vision for the project included an intricate design with gold foil. Other binding companies kept telling me no, and they found a way to do it, and to do it impeccably well. I’m thoroughly pleased with the finished product. The look and feel of my Bible is exquisite. This is my favorite Bible and the original cover was dilapidated and worn. We had a 1980 era wedding album that was a sticky unattractive mess apparently there’s a whole decade of this kind of a problem but it is now restored to its original beauty and we are so grateful.

My daughter had two books that she uses all the time- first for her Masters, now she will be using them for her PhD. The covers were falling off and the first page of one of the books had torn off. Last March I came home to a chewed up Bible. Upon examination, It was only the first 84 ish pages but To say I was devastated is an understatement. All my study notes, My prayer requests jotted down with names and dates, Verses underlined. I couldn’t even pick it up, look it over or speak about it for hours. A friend found a book and bindery company in Texas and so began the process of packing it up and sending it off. I had to wait over 8 months just for them to find a match. One month later it’s in my hands. I am thrilled. They combined and rebound and recovered the 84 chewed up pages with the rest of my Bible. They returned the chewed up pages so I can copy many of the notes and important dates into it again. My name is even engraved in the cover like it was. Thank you Bella Becho Book and Print Bindery for returning my Bible almost as used and loved and worn as it was. I’ve been lost without it.

I have had several bibles rebound in goatskin leather rather than replacing, as the pages have years of notes, and to replace with similar “paper quality”, I would likely need to upgrade to a high quality leather bible. Once that decision is made, then do I want to add a little extra expense in order to customize, to make it mine? I asked Bella becho to restore a first edition of The Wizard of Oz. It was in pretty bad shape and missing several pages. They were able to make facsimile copies of the missing pages and to “tip” them in with such skill that it was almost impossible to determine that they were not original. They also very skillfully repaired the binding. I was thrilled with the final product.

At first I was surprised at the cost to replace the pseudo leather on our wedding album that had degraded despite good storage as I discovered that our wedding album was not real leather and had become sticky and messy.

My 40 year old bonded leather Bible was gifted to me and inscribed by my mother with a precious blessing upon my graduation, but sadly, although the inner pages weathered the years of regular use reasonably well, the inferior leather cover did not. Jeff spent an inordinate amount of time with me explaining the differences between leathers, sending me photos, and helping me choose an infinitely better quality leather for a new cover and end papers, and also discussed at length and illustrated the different foil stamping and embossing options that Bella Becho offers.

Gina then did a brilliant job with the binding and finishing off. She managed to take up the few spots of previous looseness between signatures, and pulled everything so firmly together (while still preserving original gutter margins), that I’m sure my treasure will last at least another 40 years, and likely more. I can’t say enough how pleased I am with both the customer service of Bella Becho, and the level of craftsmanship that they were able to achieve for my project. With shipping and insurance, the total came to a little more than I had blocked out in my budget, but I would happily pay as much again. My mother’s Dickson Bible (her old one) was in my sister’s garage after Mother passed away, and I asked her what she was going to do with it (it was in terrible condition…don’t know how long it had been in the garage, moved around several times with my sister’s family, and generally, neglected, and abused.) My wife and I sent our 33 year old wedding album cover to Bella Becho Book Bindery (i.e., Deborah and Team) for an extensive rehab. The original cover (faux leather) deteriorated and essentially rendered our treasured wedding album not user/handling friendly. The cover was refurbished with top grain cowhide from Italy, and embossed to match our original cover (actually “exceeded” the quality of our original cover). The final work product was fantastic.
